A way of looking at things book
"A Way of Looking at Things" is an editorial publication inspired by Peter Zumthor and his approach to atmosphere observation within design. I then created in response to his book A Way of Looking at Things, the project explores how typography, composition and pacing can visually communicate architectural thought and emotion.
Using a bold black and white editorial style the book I made focuses on strong typographic hierarchy with some minimal layouts and carefully controlled negative space to reflect the clarity and restraint found within Zumthor’s work. The project aimed to translate the complex architectural ideas he talks about into a more immersive visual reading experience while trying to maintain a legible editorial structure.
