Automotive outcome for MPGD
First Car Guide is an educational automotive publication and companion app designed to help young and first-time drivers better understand car ownership, maintenance and purchasing decisions. The project combines editorial design and UX/UI design to create an accessible learning platform aimed at simplifying complex automotive topics for beginner owners.
The printed publication uses bold typography and infographic led content try to communicate information in a clear and engaging way. Topics such as insurance, vehicle maintenance, budgeting and understanding car components were broken down into some more visually digestible spreads which were inspired by contemporary automotive magazines and instructional manuals which I researched heavily into during the project.
Alongside the magazine I made a companion mobile app and QR integrated promotional system were developed to attempt to simulate the magazine subscription services I found while researching other magazines. QR interactions connected physical media with exclusive guides and subscription content encouraging a seamless transition between print and digital platforms.
This project focused heavily on infographics and user accessibility to try to make cohesive branding across multiple touch points, demonstrating how graphic design can be used to make technical information more approachable and visually impactful for younger audiences.
